Consultation Group Details

Duration:  Six Month Commitment

Cost: $395 (one-time payment for all six sessions)

Meeting Schedule: The 2nd Tuesday of the month (except November which is the first Tuesday) from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm Eastern. 2024 Dates: September 10, October 8, November 5 (1st Tue), December 10. 2025 Dates: January 15 and February 11.

Who Should Attend? Brainspotting practitioners using parts work in their practice or who are looking to enhance the integration of Brainspotting and Parts Work for their clients. Group limited to 10 partcipants. Thank you for your interest. We are starting a waiting list. We will contact you if a new group is formed.

Meeting Topics

The group will use didactic discussion on parts work with Brainspotting to support participants to:

  • Identify, track and attune to clients’ parts
  • Case examples to support the integration of Brainspotting and Parts
  • Distinguish how to use implicit vs. explicit parts work
  • Experience Support integration of various Parts Work models already practiced by clinician

Additional focus includes:

  • Focusing on specific parts of the therapist that interfere with clinical skills
  • Working with clearing Limbic Countertransference
  • Dialoguing with parts of self
  • Working as a group or role modeling ways to work on a Brainspot as the therapist learns how to define, clarify, and integrate parts

About the Facilitator:
Cynthia Schwartzberg

Cynthia Schwartzberg, a seasoned Brainspotting Trainer, believes in continued growth for the clinician. Her book, The Curious Voyage to Authenticity is filled with many exercises she brings to the Healing with Brainspotting group. Cynthia created this group to support the Brainspotting community during COVID and continues to run the group with her colleagues. She believes everyone has the capacity to heal as long as they have the desire.  Clinicians are on the forefront of the healing profession.It is important to carve out time for self-care.  This group is meant to be supportive and healing.  It is not intended to be for consultation. Join Cynthia for group or personal consultations at other times. Her expertise has been honed through years of study under the guidance of Dr. David Grand, commencing in 2000, and continues to be enriched through her ongoing participation in his esteemed Consultation Group.

Confidentiality: This program is delivered using a PowerPoint presentation, live/online exercises, and possible dyad work. Attendees will be working with their own personal material. All personal information is to be kept confidential and may not be shared elsewhere. I will treat all personal information of others with the same respect which I would expect for myself.

Online Platform: It is understood that technology-assisted teaching, due to the lack of nonverbal cues normally present in in-person teaching, is prone to misunderstandings. Clarification will be requested when necessary.

Privacy Breaches: Technology-assisted teaching utilizes several outside resources and companies (internet and software providers, public utilities, etc). All these entities are prone to their security risks. 

Competency: I understand this course may stir up uncomfortable feelings. I take full responsibility for monitoring my participation, asking for help, and seeking outside assistance if and when needed. This class is not therapy and is not intended to be therapy. It is for educational purposes and personal development. The class is not designed or intended to be used for the attendee’s therapy or clinical supervision. If I find that I am emotionally activated during the program, I will speak to the instructor or an assistant and take the necessary steps to regulate myself. If participants need additional support or input following this course, this is not the responsibility of the instructor or Cynthasis, Inc.
